Spring has sprung, May days are done and now I'm looking ahead to Summer Summer Summertime.
My Brighton Festival dates are over after a whole month dancing, singing and taking confession as 'The Priest' with Guilty Pleasures at the Old Stein Spiegeltent.
What a naughty bunch you all were as I encountered some very juicy confessions and saucy stories in my little boozy booth, sharing the 'holy' vodka spirit if you shared something guilty enough!
From 'The Priest' to 'The King' as I spent the Royal Wedding day conducting my own mass wedding and Chapel of Love blessings upon the Rooftop of Queen of Hoxton, one of my favourite places to party in London Town.
Dressed as Elvis Presley, I led strangers in unholy matrimony as we recited Elvis Presley lyrics as vows at this alternative wedding party. Meghan and Harry tied the knot and then so did all of us up there in the blazing beautiful sunny-shine, dancing and singing to the classic wedding party tunes spun by my partner in party crime, DJ Del Gazebo. Absolute mega lad!!!
It was such a memorable day. One couple really stood out for me ( pictured above ) When we recited their vows, it felt really real, deep and emotional and when they had a little smooch after I pronounced them husband and husband, I choked up. I totally felt the LOVELOVE. It was such a gorgeous moment. Afterwards we had a lovely chat and I discovered they weren't allowed to officially marry in their own country although they wore wedding rings and considered themselves married, so that little ceremony meant a lot to them. They had been together for 17 years! I totally felt it. SUCH MAGIC & LOVE! So Oran & Hagay, big shout out to you both!
So that was May in a holy/unholy nut shell. Now I'm looking ahead to my Summer dates. I'm not posting about dating in Summer, oh noooooo these are my summer dates for all the upcoming gigs singing, acting and compering with my favourite party people at festivals and parties all over the UK. I'm even doing a play!
Some highlights will be schlepping all the way up to Perth to Scone Castle (they better have clotted cream!) for the 10th anniversary of REWIND Festival in July which I'm very excited about. I'll also be at their Henley-On-Thames REWIND South festival in August, both with Musical Bingo. Then we will be resurrecting some artists since passed with Dance of The Dead at House Festival in the Tipi in the Woods, as well as true or false quizzing with the gameshow, Last Man Standing and more Musical Bingo.
As you can see there is lots going on, both locally in Sunny B-Town and all over! I'll be at Komedia with Sounds Familiar Music Quiz & Musical Bingo too and hosting a bunch of boozy bottomless brunches in London as well as hosting my weekly sing song party at Queen of Hoxton called GLEE SOCIETY every Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I must finally mention 'Starfish' a new piece of writing in which I will be playing the female lead! It's at The Marlborough Theatre Pub from June 26/27 & June 29/30. Treading the theatrical boards in my new (ish) hometown will be such fun. More info & tickets can be found here
